Great Start to 2008

WELL, it has been a stressful morning...for those of you who don't know, Jake has been waiting on the Real Estate Appraiser board for the state to issue his certification for two months now (we were supposed to hear back by end of November...that didn't happen!!) We were up against a ticking clock because if it wasn't issued at their semi-annual meeting Friday he would have to go to the new requirements for his certification...meaning thousands of dollars in classes and traveling to the classes, etc., at least six more months of being a trainee, NOT something we were looking forward to dealing with.

After not reaching the one and only woman that handles the licenses for appraisers at the state building all day Thursday, Friday, and this morning, I went for a hail mary and decided to just search for his name on the state professional licensing web site. Unexpectedly, there it was! His official certification meaning he is ready to start his business today. We are so relieved and so happy, and have designated the rest of today a big celebration so I am off to make reservations at his favorite restaurant (Sullivans) and surprise him tonight. (He doesn't read this so won't know). Have a great day--I know we will!
